Biomining is the extraction of useful elements from rocks performed by microorganisms and is the subject studied by the BioAsteroid experiment.
This experiment is scheduled to fly to ISS in October 2020, making the project timeframe, from concept to execution, less than 12 months and demonstrating that fast-track access to microgravity is a reality using the Bioreactor Express Service.
